ARTIST STATEMENT

My landscape paintings aim to create works that are both aesthetically pleasing and emotionally resonant, inviting viewers to experience the wonder and beauty of the world through my art. I usually wander around the city or a park and stumble upon a location that resonates and provokes me to meditate through the painting process. Environment around us is a symphony of motion, people passing by, birds chirping, cars honking, varied scents and changing weather. It is like long exposure photography, but more human, capturing a chunk of time in one frame. Throughout the painting process, I pick and choose what elements to incorporate in my work, sharing my personal experiences and stories with the world. Our environment challenges us to consider our place in the world and the impact we have on the nature that surrounds us, often revealing joy and innocence.

Through my work, I seek to explore the interconnectedness between environment and people, to suggest a deeper, more spiritual connection between humanity and the nature. Watercolor as a medium allows me to not overthink what I am feeling and quickly capture the essence of the symphony in front of me. I like to explore the textures and the reaction of water on my paper to give me the perfect balance to make that happen.

By challenging viewers to consider their place in the world, and the impact they have on the natural world that surrounds us, my paintings aim to reveal the joys and innocence of our existence. It is my hope that they inspire us to appreciate and protect this world that we call home.
